About This Role
We're looking for a friendly, organized person to be the welcoming face of our company. As our Receptionist & Clerical Assistant, you'll handle front desk duties while supporting our daily operations with a variety of clerical tasks.
You'll enjoy variety in your work - from greeting visitors and answering phones to processing paperwork and creating reports. It's a great opportunity for someone who likes helping others and wants to be part of a collaborative team environment.
With flexible morning hours (20-25 hours per week), this position offers good work-life balance while giving you exposure to different aspects of our business operations.
What You'll Do Daily
Front Desk & Customer Service
  • Answer phones and greet visitors with a warm, professional manner
  • Transfer calls and assist customers and guests
  • Work as part of our front office team
Office Support
  • File invoices and scale tickets in numerical order
  • Process paperwork from our Feed Plant
  • Create reports using Excel
  • Sort and distribute mail from our main office and branches
  • Maintain vendor insurance certificates and hauling company documentation
  • Handle other duties as needed
What We're Looking For
Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months to 1 year of office or customer service experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license is a plus
Skills You'll Need
  • Excellent communication skills - You'll be the first voice customers hear and face they see, so a friendly phone manner, clear speaking voice, and professional presence are essential
  • Strong written communication for emails and correspondence
  • Ability to listen carefully and relay information accurately between departments
  • Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, email)
  • Typing speed of at least 30-35 words per minute
  • Comfortable working with numbers and 10-key calculator
  • Basic math skills: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to calculate rates, discounts, and percentages
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
  • Comfortable sitting for extended periods
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Good vision for computer work and detailed tasks
  • Able to handle occasional exposure to grain dust (important if you have dust allergies)
